"Zodiac Girl" Lori G Discusses the Moon in Pisces!

Hello everyone! I'd like to take a moment to introduce Lori G! This is her first blog and I asked her to discuss her very sensitive Moon position in Pisces. Welcome Lori and take it away!

Hello to all you astro-lovers!

My name is Lauren, but my friends call me Lori. John thought it would be a great idea if I could contribute my thoughts and experiences with a particular placement in my chart; so today, we are going to talk about my Moon in Pisces.
which resides in the 12th house, the natural home of the Fish. I hope I can shed some light on this particular kind of energy and create a depth of understanding to those who have this placement or know someone who does.

So, what qualities can we ascribe to Moon in Pisces? Well, they are one of the more compassionate Moon placements; Pisceans have a strong urge to connect, understand, and serve humanity or at least those within their day-to-day interactions. 

Pisces Moon is incredibly receptive, able to absorb energy and vibrations from those around them. More often than not, Pisces Moon natives have some psychic ability and strong intuition. This can be a great gift, but it also comes with a bit of a burden. Lunar Fish can become easily drained and can have a strong desire, or rather a need, for seclusion and isolation in order to regain their energy and strength.

When a Pisces Moon is evolved--"tuned in, tapped in, and turned on"--they can be expressive and open. They have a quirky sense of humor and you can find them within the heart of a group, often generating a happy, peaceful vibration. They use their imagination for personal and creative purposes. 

Since Pisces rules the 12th house, those with this Moon placement most effectively connect within the dream-state. Appropriately enough, their assigned modern ruler is Neptune, the planet of dreams, illusions, and the astral world.

When unevolved, Pisces moon finds it extremely difficult to nurture and protect themselves. Often, being so sensitive to energies can denote a focus on the external world and create discord with this impressionable moon. If not consciously aware of this, the Lunar Fish may gravitate toward methods of nurturing or shielding themselves in unhealthy ways. These can include drug abuse, excessive alcohol consumption, emotional eating, and more.

So, now to the important part: What is my own experience with Moon in Pisces? Well, quite frankly, it’s shit but it is also fulfilling. Much like the symbol of Pisces being two Fish, there are days that are better than others. There are days when I’m at the surface of the murky waters. I am present, I am aligned with the divine, and  I am a source of comfort for others. Then there are days where I disappear into the dark abyss of the deepest waters. I am fearful, I am harmful to myself with my thoughts and actions, and I am cold.

So my lunar life is a balancing act. I feel fortunate that I have an understanding of my Moon sign for I am learning to accept that I will have days where all I want to do is get lost in a good book or just cry just to feel the release. As I grow more into my Sagittarius Sun, I still carry my Pisces Moon with me: A girl with a heart much too big for her body, a voracious dreamer, a lover of people, and with a thirst for life.

2018 Forecast from Jupiter, Part 1

Greetings to all your Archers and Arch-ettes! And to all you Fish, no matter which direction you're pointing. Jupiter here to discuss my expansion over the next year in the zodiac! 

And oh yeah, I guess if you're one of the other signs you still think I'm the best planet anyway! GREATER BENEFIC BABY! THE ONE AND ONLY!

For you art fans, the original of this painting is in Aix-en-Provence in the south of France, and even though Ingres was a Virgo, I'd say he did me proud! And admit it...Thetis is pretty nice here, too, right? John didn't know as much about me then and even though he spent a whole day in Aix eating cheese he didn't even know I was there. You can thank Mercury for the interwebs!

As much as I'd like to discuss my theories behind the neoclassical movement in French painting--and if you don't care to expand your mind, YOU SUCK--John asked me to talk about what I'm up to this year. Because reasons. 

Many of you already know that it takes me about a year to get through one zodiac sign, but I move at lot more quickly than that, it seems. At least I would if it wasn't for the damn retrograde periods!

Anyway, so I'm in very sexual Scorpio right now, as you are no doubt aware if you look at your news feed. I'll be plodding along through Scorpio for a while--I'm sitting near Mars at 18 Scorpio 32 right now--but in two months from today nearly exactly, I'll turn retrograde at 23 Scorpio 13. 

I'll stay retrograde through the end of June, and by that time I'll be back to 13 Scorpio 31.

"There's something rotten in Denmark." That sentence from Shakespeare should be going your mind whenever you draw this major arcana card. 

I'm not going to say there's nothing good about this card, but I'll say there's very little to like when you turn this one over, folks, and the watchword for it is BEWARE. Nothing here is as it seems.

Some of the standard meanings for this card for me include:

• Deception and self-deception (including "wishful thinking")
• Confusion
• Bewilderment and/or illusion
• Uncertainty and doubt
• "Spin" of any kind
• CAVEAT EMPTOR [Let the buyer beware!]

Some of us are good at lying to others. While I'm not one of those--I truly SUCK at falsehoods!--I'll bet I'm as good as anyone else in lying to myself. That's where we as human beings truly excel. When the Moon comes up, it's imperative to take a hard, honest look at a situation and start asking questions.Whatever the Moon's light hits should be called into question. 

The Moon can often alert us to a potentially dangerous situation. You know exactly what I mean. You're in a new relationship and you're on your best behavior and your date starts going off on his/her ex. You do your best to be polite and listen, but as you do so you hear some things that make you want to run in the other direction. Your gut is agreeing, and you find yourself making excuses why you can't go out again. Or you go in to sign what was supposed to be a sweet job contract, only the salary isn't as high as they said it would be and the percentage of time you will be traveling is much higher than what you discussed. 

I had a boss who epitomizes the Moon for me, a real scumbag whose didn't care what anyone's agenda was except his own. He asked me to lie for him to customers, which I hated. He held me to a standard that was totally unreachable, but he didn't tell me what that was, either. When you had a conversation with him, you had to be careful because he was an excellent wordsmith; try to hold him to a promise and inevitably he would say, "Well, that's not exactly what we discussed." When I transferred out of his department after a year or so, he continued to expect me to perform duties that weren't a part of my job description anymore. It took my new boss to instruct him to re-assign those duties to one of his own people. I think you get the idea. 

The Moon represents the entire idea of spinning any event or story to show what you wanted it to rather than the actual facts. We used to joke in the software industry that when problems with the software were reported--"bugs"--they were actually "unintended features". Any euphemism falls into this category, those words we use to soften the blow. Ever notice how the term "problem" has disappeared in favor of the term "issue"? I HATE that word because it's spinning something to be better than it is.

If a situation is confusing, the Moon will often appear. At that point, take everything that you see or hear with a grain of salt. It might not be what's really going on. You know sometimes how you hear noises at night and they sound like someone may be in your home when there's no one there? That's one of the few good points of the Moon: When something looks better than it was at first glance. But the opposite could just as equally be true when you "ding" your car door and brush it off, only to realize that it's going to need some body work when you look at it in the light of day the next morning.

One other example: When this card comes up in love, there is a lot that you don't know about that person you're with, OR you've decided to settle for this person and not see their flaws. Either way, it's a problem. What about that guy you met online who neglected to mention that he's in prison, married, or in serious financial difficulty?

With this card, nothing is as it seems. So blindly rush ahead at your own peril. Make sure that you're telling any client this as well if you're reading for others. You might not know exactly what's wrong, but there is definitely something off. This one may be easier for you to tell people about, simply because you can say, "Something in this situation doesn't feel right to me."

The Moon can also represent Pisces or Neptune-ruled people. It won't surprise you to know that Neptune is known as "The Great Deceiver". 

Mercury Retrograde in Pisces

So I have been absent for a few weeks. How's your Mercury retrograde been? Mine hasn't been too bad, all things considered.

Mercury was retrograde in Pisces, and as such, Pisces topics come to the forefront.According to Mercury Retrograde by Chrissie Blaze, during this time, we might have experienced mental processes becoming intertwined with our emotions, mental and emotional confusion, and or felt like things were developing behind the scenes but couldn't figure out what those events were. Dreams also might be very strange.

Mercury is in its fall in Pisces, a position that isn't fantastic. Basically, when a planet is in the sign of its fall, it has a lot of difficulty expressing its energy in this sign. Imagine the energy of the planet flows like a river; Mercury in Pisces would be the equivalent of having a lot of rocks, trees, and other debris in the way.

Anyway, I'd love to hear how things have been going. Remember, Mercury retrograde is technically over...but Mercury is getting back up to full speed--in its storm--between now and March 26. Keep your eyes and ears open for any Mercury retrograde nonsense until then.

Letter from Neptune: The Ultimate Indignity

Hello there Old Man!

I've been in such a chipper mood lately that I almost can't stand myself. So uncontrolled, so dreamy...and that's so me in a nutshell. I could go so far as to say it's also very much NOT you, but that might be pushing the bounds of good taste.

And the bounds of good taste and decorum is what I will not only be pushing with this letter to you. No, Father Time, I suspect you will feel like good taste and decorum will become roadkill by the side of my literary road once I'm done. Guess what? You'll just deal with it. Or you won't. But either way I won't care. You wanna know why?

A week or so ago, I moved into Pisces, the sign that I rule. I'm FINALLY in my dignity!! And for the next 14 years, give or take an hour or three, I'll be in my most comfortable position in the heavens. Just think of all the Pisces folks...and not just the Pisces sun folks, but Pisces Moon and rising people, as well as anyone with lots of Pisces in their charts...who will feel much more at home, intuitive, and complete. The best thing for them to do now is to grab a bottle and head outside with all the rest of the hippies and commune with the Divine. I'm all about connecting with the unconditional love that's all around us and giving it back. 

I mean...we've got to make the most of it now, because it isn't going to happen again for another 165 years or so. The subconscious mind finally comes to the forefront, and more people will be attuned to and accept intuition--or "playing hunches" or some other non-New Age word of your choosing, my non-intuitive friend--as a normal everyday part of life. 

From a more environmental perspective, I expect a lot more ocean research. I do rule the oceans, too, you know. There's this huge body of water that takes up like 70% of the Earth and they're nowhere even close to understanding its complexity. 

People will feel more comfortable with anything I rule. I expect psychics, mediums, dancers, and filmmakers to have an excellent time. Anything that provides an illusion--glamour, if you will--will do well. It's going to be an awesome time!

With that said, unlike certain other more stodgy planets that will not be named, I freely admit my shortcomings. Over the next fourteen years, I expect that our difficulties with drugs in the world will become much, much worse. I'm not just talking about alcohol, though...I suspect that there will be a rise in the use of any illegal drug. More people may turn to drugs instead of addressing their problems directly; consequently, you may find that more people end up in rehab--sadly, I rule addiction, but at the same time I also have psychiatry under my aegis so I can try to help them cope. 

Secrecy is good sometimes, but generally speaking it causes a lot of problems. It's the deceptive aspect of me that gets many into trouble. Expect more extramarital affairs and more people hiding things under cosmetics than ever before. My influence may push people in that direction as well. Any criminal activity that is kept under the radar, like smuggling, could also see an increase. 

I'm not going to sit here and take responsibility for either the good or the bad of my influence over people; they've got free will, so blaming it on me is just an excuse. 

I have to gloat a little...just like you'll want to be proud Papa when you move into Capricorn, which won't happen for a few years yet...but today IT'S ALL ABOUT ME!!

Awww...don't have a negative emotion on me! That's right...you can't anyway...but John did get most of his tax stuff done and finish the meat of his tarot book, as well as receive a shiny new title. So you SHOULD be thrilled for five minutes or so before disappointment suffocates you like relatives on Thanksgiving.
