A New Venue for Metaphysical Practitioners: Spiritual Classifieds

Hi everyone! I wanted to let you know about a new place where you can find my information. It's called spiritualclassifieds.org.

Honestly, I've always said I don't advertise much, but I really like this site. One of the things I like most about it is how it's set up. It's very easy to find the spiritual or metaphysical specialty you're looking for, anywhere in the States.

On the back end, they ask you questions to stimulate interest in your practice. I had to really think about answering these questions, but I can see how it would drive people to me who are looking for exactly what I offer.

I'd love it if you would take a look and tell me what you think. Click here to take a look!

If you are a practitioner of the metaphysical yourself and want to advertise with them, their rates are extremely reasonable. Please let me know and I will give you my referral code!

Of course, feel free to give out the link to anyone interested in my services!

Thanks in advance for taking a gander. I look forward to seeing you soon!

Shameless Marketing: Mercury and Jupiter Discuss Upcoming Schedule Changes

Jupiter: Hello there, excellent people! As the designated shill of the astrological planetary committee, I am here to bring you up to speed on recent happenings involving our favorite blogger. And joining me in my task today is Mercury!

Mercury: Well, someone had to be here to make sure that there was actual information conveyed and not some exaggerated, overblown account of what is truly going on.

Jupiter: I resemble that remark, brainiac! We can’t all be as smart and articulate as you.

Mercury: John’s reading schedule in northern Virginia will change for the next few months. A temporary work assignment will not allow for John to read at Sticks & Stones as usual. Let me again stress the word temporary

Jupiter: As in the "not permanent" kind of temporary!

Mercury: [looks at Jupiter] I don't know of any other definition for that word, Jupiter.

Jupiter: [sigh] FINE.

Mercury: From February 1 through early May, 2021, John will continue to do readings and charts, but via Zoom only. As soon as John’s official return date to the store is determined, we’ll inform you promptly.

Jupiter: Consider this only as a momentary disruption to his in-person services, good people!

Mercury: Please contact John directly for any reading or chart inquiries via his email, hierophant@cox.net.

Jupiter: And upon John’s triumphant return to duty at the region’s premier metaphysical mercantile, he will begin teaching a beginner astrology course of study!

Mercury: Correct. While John is designing the curriculum at present, the information we have is that it is designed for astrology beginners, and that it will be a series of courses starting with the astrological planets. We do not have an official start date, but you can generally expect them to start at some point during the summer months on Sunday afternoons at Sticks & Stones for $35 a student per class. The proposed time slot is 3:30-5:30pm, although again, that could shift.

Jupiter: Believe me when I tell you that you do not want to miss this opportunity to learn from an experienced instructor who knows how to teach adults! And who wouldn’t want to learn more about me?

Mercury: You may have concerns about attending an in-person class during the COVID pandemic. We hope that many of you will be vaccinated by the time the class series has its debut, but it’s fair to say that the threat of COVID-19 will not dissipate immediately, and no vaccination is 100% effective. While John will be teaching the class at Sticks & Stones and you may attend in person, you may also choose to take the class via Zoom.

Jupiter: You only live once, good people, and who wouldn’t want to spend a great deal of time learning a 3000-year-old discipline from a born instructor who cares about long-term student information retention? You’ll feel a lot dumber than Mars if you miss out on this opportunity, and I mean have you MET him? There are boxes of rocks smarter than he is!

Mercury: I don’t recall seeing that last remark in our prepared text, Jupiter, although I did recently go retrograde...

Jupiter: You didn’t miss it, Merc…you are just not the type to…speak off the cuff. Haven’t you ever wanted to like, you know…jazz up your language a little bit? Have some fun with it?

Mercury: As additional information becomes available, John will transmit it via appropriate channels. I believe we have conveyed the information, and it’s time to conclude. People can reach out to John directly for additional clarification if needed.

Jupiter: [frowns] You know how to ruin a guy’s day, don’t you, Mr. Information Junkie? You know what? WHATEVER. YOLO, good people!

Jupiter vs. Saturn: Shameless Marketing and the Polite Lie

Jupiter: Good people, it is time for John's annual shameless marketing post here on Small Business Saturday! I'll be one of your co-hosts for this blog, and as you can see, the enthusiasm from my co-host, Saturn, is palpable as usual!

Saturn: Quite. Before we start, I have a question for you, Jupiter.

Jupiter: Sure, Old Man. What's shakin'?

Saturn: First of all, stop using that plebeian dialect! You sound more and more like Mars all the time. People expect something more dignified from us.

Jupiter: [sings] You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch...

Saturn: [frowns] Second of all, Venus told me you said you looked forward to working with me on this blog every year. Is that true?

Jupiter: [mouth open] She told you that?

Saturn: Yes, she did. [pause] Are you surprised?

Jupiter:  NO! [stammers] I mean...no, no, no. Of course I expected she would tell you that.

Saturn: I find myself unconvinced.

Jupiter: Yeah, well...[pauses]

Saturn: You've become so reticent all of a sudden.  Your silence deafens me.

Jupiter: [pause] I don't really know how to tell you this.

Saturn: Tell me what, Jupiter?

Jupiter: [sheepishly] So...Venus may have...ummm...deliberately made our conversation sound a lot more positive about our annual shameless marketing interaction than it actually was.

Saturn: [nods] I understand. Go on.

Jupiter: Venus has this ability to...maybe that's not the right way to phrase it. [thinks] Venus sometimes enhances...shit, that's not it either. Ummmm, so you know how some planets can obscure...damn it!

Saturn: [small smile] I don't think I've ever seen you like this. Other planets might even think I was...amused, even though my annoyance rises. Could you get to the point?

Jupiter: OK, Old Man. She lies, OK? Venus lies.

Saturn: It's not polite to call out another planet in this manner. What do you mean?

Jupiter: Venus is not a fan of discomfort, Saturn. She wants to make everyone happy. As such, sometimes she tells what some would call a "polite lie" when the truth might not be welcomed.

Saturn: I see. [pauses] So you don't like working with me?

Jupiter: You see, that's not it either!

Saturn: My tolerance for ambiguity is not my strong suit, Jupiter.

Jupiter: Old friend, I don't HATE working with you at all. You're an...acquired taste, and I say that as a compliment. Venus knows that and so she probably used the polite lie to make you feel better about yourself in the short-term.

Saturn: So, it wasn't the truth at all, but it made me more tractable, right?

Jupiter: [sadly] Yes, that's possible.

Saturn: When I asked Venus if she wanted to do this blog with me instead of you, she told me you were looking forward to working on it with me, so she couldn't take the opportunity from you.

Jupiter: Old friend, there may have been another motive as well.

Saturn: [pauses] She didn't want to do it, so she made it up as misdirection so that she wouldn't have to refuse my request?

Jupiter: When you break it down that way, it sounds a lot more harsh, which wasn't her intent. But you're correct. [pause] Now you see what she was trying to do.

Saturn: [seriously] Yes, I understand. [pause] Everyone thinks that Venus is all love and light, that she's a perfect planet that everyone wants to be around. I don't think people see the side of her that can be downright insidious.

Jupiter: We all have our faults. You have to be the disciplined one. You HAVE to tell humans the reality. You are driven to make people better. Venus' role is different.

Saturn: Yes, it is at that.

Jupiter: Believe it or not, sometimes humans prefer the polite lie even when they know the truth. The hospitality industry is practically based on it.

Saturn: [nods] Thanks for explaining it to me, Jupiter. You are many things, but I appreciate that you were honest with me. You've helped me to see things in a very different light. [pause] I'm no longer interested in working on this today, Jupiter. I need some space to handle this...disappointment.

Jupiter: Sure, old friend. We'll do it another day.

Leaving Occoquan: Moving Forward With Gratitude

-->
Wheel of Fortune from the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot Deck
US Games Systems, Inc.

As many of you know by now, Pin Curls Salon, my home for the past two years, is closing its doors next week. Stylist Lynda Lee has been an incredibly gracious host for offering me a place to serve my clients. As she will be moving into a shared space, I won’t be able to accompany her there. My last day reading cards at Pin Curls was today, August 24, 2019.

What this means is that for the first time in nearly 14 years, I won’t have an Occoquan home. This is a big change for me and for my practice, since I began my professional life there. While I’m a big “never say never” person, it seems likely that I won’t be reading in Occoquan in the foreseeable future. I met most of my clients for the the first time there, so I have a sentimental attachment to it. But as the Wheel of Fortune says, "Everything has a time and a season."

Like many changes, this is a mixed bag emotionally, but the first feeling I’ll acknowledge is gratitude. I’d like to thank all of you—clients, students, and mentees—for your patronage in Occoquan over these past 14 years. I’m incredibly grateful for having the opportunity to serve as a guide, teacher, and mentor.

I’ll take advantage of the opportunity by taking a few Saturdays off, and by using some of that time to work on my upcoming online tarot classes.

Many of you are likely wondering where I’ll be reading next. For the moment, I’m at Sticks & Stones in Fairfax every Tuesday from 5-7pm. I’ll also be reading there all day on Sunday, September 1, from 12-7. Readings are $50 there.

I’m also doing in-person readings at the NoVA Pagan Pride event on Saturday, September 28 at George Mason University in Fairfax. Readings there will also be $50.

If Fairfax is too far for you, I offer readings via Zoom, a videoconferencing program that is free to download and use. While not “in person”, it mimics the in-person experience by allowing you to see me and the cards and to have a conversation; it’s got full audio and video. I’ve been doing readings and astrology charts this way and the feedback I’ve received from clients is overwhelmingly positive.

Oh, and by the way, I can have up to 100 people on Zoom at one time, so if you want to schedule a virtual tarot party that everyone can come to regardless of location, let me know. I’ve done events like this and have had great success. Halloween is coming, good people!

Remember also that I can come to you. For most northern Virginia destinations I don’t charge a travel fee. Just drop me an email or text me at 703-829-3273 and we’ll set something up.

This may be the end of my time in Occoquan, but I look forward to serving you in the future. Thanks again for your past and continued patronage; I am sincerely grateful and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Random Meanderings

Greetings to friends old and new! It's been a very busy spring and early summer and I sincerely apologize for my absence!

Here are a few random thoughts for you as I get back into the swing of this writing thing.

1) Sticks & Stones--I'm now reading at Sticks & Stones in Fairfax once a week, every Tuesday night from 5-7. I do take appointments there but you can also just show up, too. I will also be there July 4th and 5th, so if you're off either of those days and you need some guidance, stop by!

2) Tarot classes--I'm a little behind schedule but these are still coming. Thanks to all of you who have asked! I'd like to get them started in September. Thanks to those of you who responded to the Facebook survey--classes will be 1 hour and 15 minutes long and in the evenings.

3) New astrology teacher--I've been studying with Kathy Rose, who has been a consulting astrologer for 36 years. I met her last year at SOTA and was extremely impressed with her teaching ability but also her therapeutic approach to astrology and working with clients. I'm learning a ton and really honing my skills.

4) Pin Curls Salon--I'm still reading at Pin Curls, but I've taken a few weeks hiatus since I've been traveling. My next date there is Saturday, July 13 from 9-4.

5) Kittens!--We are fostering four kittens right now so our lives have been consumed with caring for them. Jen's been doing the "lion's share" of the work but it's been amazing having them here. A few more weeks and they will go to the shelter to be adopted out.

6) NoVA Pagan Pride--Once again I'm reading at Pagan Pride on the George Mason campus in September. More details to follow!

I think that's all for now, folks. Thanks for hanging in there with me. Hopefully another blog will be coming soon: A book review of Tarot for Troubled Times by Shaheen Miro and Theresa Reed! I've been waiting for this book for nearly a year.

As always, thanks for tuning in. See you again soon!

Online Group Tarot Classes Coming Soon!

Mountain Retreat in Lost River, WV, March 2019

Greetings everyone! I am finally back in the saddle after a very turbulent winter! Happy spring to one and all, and a very happy end to Mercury retrograde in a few days!

I'm going to do something that I've wanted to do for a long time: Offer online tarot classes.

I've had a number of folks approach me about teaching online tarot classes for some time, and I'm almost ready to get started.

All I know right now is that they would be on Zoom, a video conferencing program you can download to any device, and that basic tarot classes are what I plan to offer first.

If you're interested, please make sure that you have liked my Hierophant Tarot page on Facebook. I'll be putting out different polls on possible dates and times, as well as other questions that will help me decide what people want, and I'll want your input. Nothing is set in stone, so if you're interested, make sure I'm hearing your opinions.

If you're not on Facebook and are interested, feel free to email me as well.

Thanks so much for your support, encouragement, and interest. More to come...

Joining the Family at Sticks and Stones in Fairfax, VA!

Jupiter: Little dude! What are you doing here? I'm supposed to be doing the shameless marketing around here!

Pluto: Cut out that "little" shit, you expanding windbag! We're talking about a wholesale fucking CHANGE here, so of course, I'm going to show up. Got a problem with that?

Jupiter: [nervously] No, Pluto. Of course not!

Pluto: Didn't think so. Get on with it.

Jupiter: [smiling] Right. Anyway, as John's favorite shill, I'm here to tell you that you'll have more opportunities to see John in person! He'll be joining the Sticks and Stones family in Fairfax, VA, as a tarot reader on Tuesday evenings!

Pluto: And he's still reading in Occoquan, right?

Jupiter: Of course! This is an expansion! Those dates are still on his calendar. Why do less when you can do MORE?

Pluto: Damn right! And you assholes reading these better remember he's one of mine! This will be a perfect spot in John's quest for TOTALLLLLLLL WORLD DOMINATIONNNNNNNNNNNNN!

Jupiter: Ummmm, not really. Have you met John? And why do you sound like that guy who always says "Let's get ready to rumble!" at the beginning of the fake wrestling matches?

Pluto: Because this is serious shit. We're not playing around today, Mr. Exaggeration.

Jupiter: Well, you know you kind of interrupted the flow I was going for...

Pluto: Look, don't give me any flack, Big Picture. I'm here, I did my part, and now I'm going to fuck right off. But to say thanks for including me, I've asked Mercury to help me make some travel reservations for you for your next retrograde. [hands a packet to Jupiter]

Jupiter: An adventure! Wicked cool! Where am I going?

Pluto: New Mexico! It's the only place in the continental United States that has a geologic nuclear waste facility, and I figured you might want to see it! I've been five times. I just can't get enough.

Jupiter: [looking down at papers] Ummmm, thanks?

Pluto: Don't mention it. I put it on Saturn's credit card.

Jupiter: Wait, what?

Pluto: Bon voyage!

Shameless Marking from Jupiter

Good evening, good people! Jupiter here as John's favorite shill to talk about a problem that doesn't plague John very often: Free time.

Now, if I could ask you to keep what I'm about to say between us...thank you! So John isn't good at being...idle. He's always off on his next adventure, academic or otherwise. And the same is true when it comes to one of the four letter words I hate: Work. He's got too much of that old bastard Saturn's influence.

And to be frank, that's one of the reasons that I'm not telling anyone I'm here. Saturn would start in on his "John's one of mine and you leave him alone" nonsense, and I'm just not in the mood. Well, to be fair, I never am in the mood for Saturn, Mr. Depression himself. But you see what I mean.

At the moment, his schedule for next week is remarkably light, and he would prefer to have his schedule filled.

This is where you come in! John has some astrology consultation slots available next week. This is one of those few times when you won't have to wait a few weeks to see him! And let's not forget that his astrology consultation prices are going up July 1, so you can lock in the lower rate and get nearly immediate service. I don't see how there's a downside for you!

Anyway, if you're available, John has consults available evenings Wednesday, May 23rd through Friday, May 25th, and during the day or evening on Saturday, May 26. Drop him a line at hierophant@cox.net and tell him your preference so you can work out the particulars.

And whatever you do, don't tell him Saturn sent you, because that closed-minded prick would sell his own mother if someone told him he had to!

Expansively yours,

Jupiter

Random Meanderings

Greetings and salutations, good people! I figured I'd take a moment for a quick word from me about how things are going in my world. In one quick word, BUSY.

Those of you who know me well are aware that "busy" is usually the status quo for me, but in some cases, it's even been a little overwhelming for me, which is saying something!

Anyway, here are some of the things happening in my world right now!

1) Maryland Psychic Fair--This event was last weekend and Jen and I had an amazing time. It was an exceptionally busy and fun day, and I'd like to thank everyone who turned up. This was the first time this fair has been offered and considering the number of people that came--I was told over 700 people for 30+ vendors!--we'll definitely do it again next year. It was not far from Annapolis in Gambrills, MD.

2) Video games--Unfortunately my desire to work has only whetted my appetite for video games. I bought Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel for PS4, while Jen grabbed the latest in the FarCry Series, FarCry 5. Let me tell you that FarCry 5 is amazing and extremely scary, especially considering the current world situation. Jen spent countless hours killing cultists on the screen and I was totally mesmerized.

3) Morgana--We received some very sad news a few weeks ago. Our cat Morgana has been diagnosed with cancer. We're exceptionally sad about this development, and at nearly 14 years old we've decided we're not going to put her through chemotherapy or more invasive tests. We're going to enjoy the time we have left with her.

4) Guest Bloggers--A special thanks to astrologer Tara Appezzato and burgeoning writer Ren Armstrong for their contributions to this blog. I have plans to ask at least two more people to share their talents with us and hope to have more details to share in the near future.

5) SOTA--The State of the Art Astrology Conference is in Buffalo, New York, as usual, this October 18-23. I highly encourage everyone to consider going; I've mentioned this event in several other blogs, and I'll be speaking on tarot again this year. This is a small, wonderful conference that I can't recommend highly enough.

6) Graduation--After three long years of study, I'm scheduled to graduate this June from the Midwest School of Astrology with my Certificate of Astrological Proficiency. The final required seminars, competency exam, and the graduation ceremony itself are all in early to mid-June so I won't have many card reading dates during that time.

7) Astrology Charts--If you'd like a chart done, now is the time to schedule one before the prices go up in mid-June. If you schedule a chart for any time before May 31, it will be $100.

8) Ready for spring--Northern Virginia weather has confounded me even more than usual this spring, so I can't wait for it to finally arrive. I hate having to turn on the AC during the day and then the heat at night!

As always, I appreciate your time and look forward to seeing you across my table soon!

Welcome to Ren Armstrong!

Hello everyone...

It's always great when you can feature those who have a bright future on your blog. In this case, it's my honor to introduce Ren Armstrong, who will present her first blog EVER tomorrow morning here on Metaphysical Meanderings!

Her series will premiere tomorrow and will continue for a time on Wednesdays, hereafter known as "Rensdays". She'll meet the astrological planets, and while I've helped her get started, the work is primarily hers.

I hope you'll enjoy her writing as much as I do. Thanks so much for tuning in and for your continued support!

Holiday Greetings from Jupiter!

Greetings everyone! I hope you are feeling expansive these days. Considering the amount of food many of you consumed in the past week I’d say you probably are. That’s OK! You only live once and no one’s really going to notice you moving back down a notch on that belt.

This is a HUGE shout out to my Archers! Time to get out there and show everyone how to have a good time. Seriously people...you’ve gotta loosen up, because life is really too short.

So you’ve probably noticed there’s been a lot of sexual stuff in the news lately. I moved into Scorpio a few weeks ago and I just can’t seem to get enough sex these days. I mean holy shit...I don’t know how you Scorpio sun, moon, or rising sign people can be like this all the time. And now that I’ve arrived, it’s sex everyplace you look. I’ll be in Scorpio for about a year, so hope you get used to it. This shit is not going away.

By the way, I’m also the planet of publishing, so expect lots of sex books this year too. Woo hoo! Time to get our freak on!

Now of course there’s more to being in Scorpio than sex...not much, I’ll admit, but a little more. Scorpio is a very deep sign so expect lots of potential for spiritual and intuitive development. I’m the spiritual planet of this motley crew, although Neptune does some of that shit, the crazy drunk bastard, but a lot of that stuff falls to me. Is your spiritual path serving you? This would be an excellent time to ask yourself that question.

If your desire for spiritual or personal development leads you toward tarot or astrology, I certainly hope you’ll consider asking John for a hand. He’s always looking to help people out, and no matter what Saturn says about him I think he’s amazing. You know there’s someone in your life that needs a tarot reading or a chart, and this would be a great time to hit him up. No, he didn’t ask me to say that, but unlike some astrological planets, I’m always trying to help the man out, you know? He may work like Saturn, but he parties like me!

Thanks for hanging out with me, people. Remember to thank an Archer today! They’re usually willing to say the shit that no one else will, and for that, they’re amazing. But they have feelings, too, so I suggest you watch what you say or they will fill you with arrows. If you happen to be dealing with a Sag sun person and a Scorpio moon or rising, consider those arrows coated with venom and extra sharp. You have been warned.

So remember...”too much” is a relative term!

Expansively,

Jupiter, the anti-Saturn

New Theme and New Q&A Link!

Venus: [mutters to herself] Where is that man? I told him when he needed to be here. [SIGH]

[Mercury enters]

Mercury: Sorry, Venus. Mars isn't coming. Looks like you and I working together today.

Venus: What a pleasant surprise, Merc! But why isn't Mars coming?

Mercury: [looks at his phone] Well, the spelling in these text messages is aborrhent and inhibits understanding to a certain degree. But from what I can determine, he's protesting.

Venus: Did he say why?

Mercury: Again, we have more of an enigma, but my best guess is that he's upset about NFL players being called "sons of bitches" for kneeling during the National Anthem. So he's not showing up "to work for the man" today.

Venus: Well, for what it's worth, I'm pleased to see you. And it's probably better for you to be doing this portion anyway.

Mercury: Yes. Questions and answers are definitely my thing. So anyway, John wanted me to tell everyone that he has a new link to answer tarot and astrology questions. If you look to your right, you'll see it, and you can scroll down to fill in the different fields.

Venus: That's a fantastic addition. But did you see the field on choosing an astrological planet to answer? I'm not thrilled it could make more work for us.

Mercury: I sure did. And I hope people pick me because I love giving information.

Venus: Well, I'm not the most...ummm, energetic planet, so especially now I hope that people DON'T pick me to answer, especially not right now while the Sun is in Libra. I mean I guess I will if I have to but...

Mercury: We have no evidence to support or refute that possibility, Venus. But what were you supposed to talk about?

Venus: Well I'm here to tell people about the new blog theme! John's beloved wife Jen is clearly at work here...I was getting tired of that "Ye Olde World Traveler" default theme he had going on. I mean, clearly the blog was in need of a refresh.

Mercury: If it conveys information better, I couldn't care less what it looks like. It's all about blog numbers and bringing information to the people.

Venus: Well I for one love it! That girl is a creative genius and she's so good at helping her partner be successful.

Mercury: I have conveyed the information as instructed, Venus. Time for me to jet. [speeds off]

Venus: He never even sticks around for simple gratitude. Weird little dude...loveable but weird.

Where in the World is John Reading Tarot This Weekend?

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! Venus here with a very special announcement. Our favorite blogger and tarot reader has something important to share, and I'm excited to be the one to share it with all of you!

I'm thrilled to announce that John will be reading at Pin Curls Beauty Salon in historic Occoquan, VA, starting this Saturday, September 2 from 9:00am-3:00 pm!

When I found out John's new studio is a salon, I begged him to let me share the news. I mean, how perfect is that for me? Owner and master stylist Lynda Lee is a local legend! And her generosity in allowing John to work there on weekends touched my heart!

So let me tell you all about the space! The salon is closed on tarot reading days so it will be a quiet, private space for John and all of his many clients. There are comfortable chairs if you're waiting for a reading. And John will have an assistant to help with payments and scheduling! So if you don't want to wait, we'll be able to text you and let you know when your turn will be coming as you tool around historic Occoquan!

When you're on your way, you can also TEXT 703-829-3273 to get on the reading list! Just let us know how many people in your party and their first names to be added to the end of the list. If you're already in town, or when you arrive in town, drop in or text to let us know you're here. We'll give you an approximate wait time. Mercury will be so happy!

One other small tip: Behind the building, there are some unreserved parking spaces that are for your use. Don't park in any RESERVED spots or you'll be towed! Just stay away from any spot with a sign and you should be just fine.

Anyway, before I go, here's the address:

311-C Mill Street
(the back left side of The Bottle Stop!)
Occoquan, VA 22125

I really hope to see many of you there! And I don't just mean for tarot readings with John! Let Lynda and her assistant Casey bring your natural beauty to the surface. John's hair has never looked better! And maybe now that he's reading at a salon he'll have his hair cut more often? Maybe? We can hope, right?

Love,

Venus

Shameless Marketing: August and September Event Updates

Hello, everyone...

Let me pause my video game to give you some very important information. For those of you playing at home, I'm back to Civilization VI and I'm playing as the British.

With that said, I've had some things come up in my real-world calendar, and I will not be reading at 13 Magickal Moons for the foreseeable future.

However, I am also doing tarot readings as well as astrology mini-readings at Pagan Pride on September 30 at George Mason University! I'm offering the mini-readings for the first time ever. I hope you'll come out and show your support!

Thanks in advance and I hope the end of your summer is wonderful!

PS: Hold on to your astrological hats for this month, folks. It's got the potential to be a bumpy ride with a Mercury retrograde and two eclipses! More on those to follow. :)

Intermediate and Advanced Tarot Classes This Summer!

Hello, everyone...shameless marketing alert! :)

Tradition of the Witches Circle is proud to offer both a six-week Intermediate Tarot and a six-week Advanced Tarot this summer and fall!

I'll be teaching Intermediate tarot starting on Friday, July 7 from 7-9pm; the cost is $120. Advanced Tarot begins in late August and will also be offered on Friday nights for $120. There will be no break between the two, but there will be a few Fridays off here and there to accommodate my own schedule.

To run the class, we need at least five students. So if you're interested, please comment on the post and also call or email 13 Magickal Moons to make sure your place is reserved. I'd like to have a definite number of students by this Friday, June 30. We're also offering the course via Oovoo, so even if you can't make it to the shop, you can still attend!
I look forward to seeing many of you on Friday nights this summer and fall to deepen your study of this incredibly fascinating subject! :)

First-Time Attendee Discount for the State of the Art (SOTA) Conference in October!

Jupiter: Hello everyone! John's asked us to come do his dirty work again. At least this time they paired me with the King of Misinformation himself, Mercury! We're here to talk about the State of the Art Astrology Conference, October 19-23, 2017, in Buffalo, NY.

Mercury: Jove, don't think I didn't notice that mistake you made.

Jupiter: Which was...?

Mercury: King of "Mis-Information"? I think what you meant was "Chief Information Officer of the Zodiac."

Jupiter: Dude, you just got back from retrograde, which was a total cluster fuck, and you want to get all high and mighty? And Saturn is supposed to be the title king. What do you care?

Mercury: As we've stated many times, Jupiter, I don't "care." I just don't want the public to be misinformed.

Jupiter: Whatever. John sent us out here to let people know about SOTA.

Mercury: Yes, so let me give the people information before you tell them how much they can learn. Sound good?

Jupiter: [SIGH] Sure, Doctor Propaganda. Go for it!

Mercury: You should talk. [PAUSE] Anyway, good people, if you haven't come to the SOTA Astrology Conference, it's a fantastic way to get lots of information in a short time on many astrological and other metaphysical topics. All aspects of astrology, as well as mediumship, tarot, and other divination topics have all made their appearance in years past.

Jupiter: That's right, Mr. Just-The-Facts-Ma'am! Lots and lots of higher learning going on. And our favorite blogger...[to Mercury] do we have to say that? I mean, IS he our favorite blogger? What does that even mean?

Mercury: What my philosophical pillock of a partner is trying particularly poorly to profess is that our favorite blogger, John, has been presenting for the past few years at this conference, and the 2017 meeting is no exception!  He'll be speaking on learning the tarot through pop culture.

Jupiter: I'm still not convinced he's my favorite blogger, but let's put that aside for now.

Mercury: If you've never attended SOTA before, ladies and gentlemen, this is the year to give it a shot. We've been authorized to offer first-time attendees a discount!

Jupiter: That's a great philosophy for bringing new folks into what's already a fantastic event, Merc.

Mercury: The details about this offer are that if you are a first-time SOTA attendee and register by May 31, by check, your full conference registration will cost only $100.

Jupiter: Damn, that's cheap!

Mercury: It is less than the standard conference registration, Jupiter, and while it doesn't include any extras like lunches, it does include all of the general sessions of the three-day event.

Jupiter: [frowns] You're taking all the joy out of this for me, man. Haven't you ever heard of "marketing," Merc?

Mercury: Not at the expense of facts, Jove. So let me finish, and then you can wax rhapsodic about it. [PAUSE] Anyway, if you're at all interested, here's how to proceed: Send your check for $100 by May 31 to:

Full Circle Seminars
35 Brock St., Suite #1405
Hamilton, ON, L8L 4L7

Mercury: Also, please make sure to tell them John sent you. That's a fact, whether or not he's your favorite blogger. But I'm sure HE hopes that he is.

Jupiter: Damn straight. Even though I don't know any other bloggers...

Mercury: Jove, wait for the fine print. There are only 20 of these things. And when they're gone, this offer will end.

Jupiter: It's time to get your learn on! Haul ass to Buffalo this October 19-23 for the SOTA Astrology Conference. Click the link for more details.

Mercury: I think that's it, Jove. I'm off to another appointment. [leaves]

Jupiter: That little motherfucker has no soul whatsoever! He didn't even talk about all the astrologers that you can meet in such a small setting. That's the best part and Mr. Clinical didn't say a word about it! I'm going to have to talk with John about who he partners me up with...
