M is for Mars

Hello everyone and welcome to my "M" post about the astrological aspects of Mars.

So everyone knows that men are from Mars and women are from Venus...or so they say. But Mars is an important astrological planet for both men and women, because it gives us a dynamic energy that can be used both to create and to destroy.

Mars is named for the god of war, and if you remember the myth you'll know a lot about the Mars energy in your astrological chart. Mars provides the will to do battle in life when we must stand our ground, as well as the aggression and courage that we need to survive our daily battles.

Of course, Mars also provides the impetus to have sex. How many times in movies have you seen a couple have a fight and then somehow it evolves into lust? That's Mars at work. But let's be clear on this: Love and lust have two different astrological sources. Mars provides the sex drive, but love--the desire for union with another--comes from Venus.

Mars reveals the nature of the "animal" inside of each of us, both men and women, and fuels not only our desire to win and succeed, but also to strive for what we want. If you want to lead, command, or control others, you can thank--or blame, depending on your feelings on it--Mars.

Just like the position of Venus in a man's chart may indicate what type of woman turns him on, the position of Mars in a woman's chart may give some clues into the type of man she's looking for.

Careers ruled by Mars include anyone who works with sharp metal implements--surgeon, butcher, and barber, for example, anyone in the military, and all athletes since sports are just another metaphor for war, anyway. :)

Thanks for tuning in! Come back tomorrow for my "N" post!
